Policy Priorities 2019

Student Goal Settings

Dear Colleagues,

Competency
Works recently released the book Quality Principles for Competency-based Education that offers 16 Quality Design Principles to guide the development of competency-based learning with the goal of creating a system in which every student succeed. Developed with input involving practitioners as part of the National Summit on K-12 Competency-Based Education, the 16 Quality Design Principles provide a cohesive framework that offers a set of guideposts for schools and districts.

Chris Sturgis from
CompetencyWorks has also started a blog series that introduces each Quality Principle. Below are two blogs that have been published:

  1. Competency Education Quality Principle #1: Purpose-Driven
  2. Competency-Based Education Quality Principle #2: Commit to Equity
