It&#8217;s not such great news as we are still in early stages of fully understanding all the implementation issues so that underserved students get the help they need when they need it. \u00a0So if it becomes the newest trend, we are likely to see models that are called competency education where students are still being left behind.<\/p>\n<p>So one way to guard against it is to share resources widely from trusted partners that have equity at the heart of their work. \u00a0For example, the <a href=\"http:\/\/greatschoolspartnership.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Great Schools Partnership<\/a> is offering a free webinar on February 5th on the topic of developing effective graduation standards and performance indicators&#8221; &#8220;In this webinar, participants will learn about the fundamental components of an effective proficiency-based teaching and learning system.\u00a0 Because in a proficiency-based classroom, teachers target standards as their instructional foci, participants will also learn how to identify graduation standards\u2014those skills and concepts that are at the heart of a discipline\u2014as well as the performance indicators students must achieve to demonstrate proficiency of those graduation standards.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>You can register by clicking <a href=\"http:\/\/fs19.formsite.com\/GSP1\/Webinars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_relevanssi_hide_post":"","_relevanssi_hide_content":"","_relevanssi_pin_for_all":"","_relevanssi_pin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_unpin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_include_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_exclude_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_no_append":"","_relevanssi_related_not_related":"","_relevanssi_related_posts":"","_relevanssi_noindex_reason":"","mapsvg_location":""},"legacy_category":[],"issue":[368,371],"location":[],"class_list":["post-2680","cw_post","type-cw_post","status-publish","hentry","issue-issues-in-practice","issue-learn-lessons-from-the-field"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.1 -
