The webinar recording and slide deck are available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inacol.org\/resource\/an-introduction-to-k-12-competency-based-education-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Global Online Academy has launched the <a href=\"https:\/\/globalonlineacademy.org\/what-we-do\/cbl-toolkit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Competency-Based Learning Toolkit<\/a>, a design tool that helps teams of educators shift to activities that are skills-driven, performance-based, and co-designed with students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Equity<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Digital Promise describes <a href=\"https:\/\/digitalpromise.org\/2019\/04\/29\/equity-in-schools-access-technology\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">how technology can help contribute to equity in schools<\/a>. They present strategies such as professional development and data-informed decision-making, not using \u201cedtech to replace worksheets or run \u2018drill and kill\u2019 exercises.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Professional Learning <\/strong>\u2013 Some upcoming opportunities include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The New Hampshire Learning Initiative is offering its annual <a href=\"https:\/\/nhlearninginitiative.org\/events\/powerful-learning-conference\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Powerful Learning Conference<\/a>, July 9-11 in Bow, NH, to celebrate innovative projects from across the state on topics such as competency instruction, learning progressions, and embedded work study practices.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/personalizedlearningsummit.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Personalized Learning Summit<\/a> will take place in Chanhassen, Minnesota on August 5-6, 2019. It is an opportunity to learn about culturally responsive teaching, explore feedback and assessment, and gain tools and resources to more fully realize student-centered learning.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westminsterpublicschools.org\/domain\/2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Competency-Based Education Summit<\/a> will take place October 9-11 in Westminster, Colorado. Westminster Public Schools is a large district implementing a competency-based system.
