Join the webinar to help identify the field\u2019s emerging issues and provide insights to inform the future direction of competency-based education.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>News<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Featured in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wired.com\/2016\/08\/inside-online-school-radically-change-kids-learn-everywhere\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wired<\/a>, New Hampshire\u2019s Virtual Learning Academy Charter School is radically changing how students learn through relationships, competencies, performance pay, and connection to the community.<\/li>\n<li>The government in Rwanda launched competency-based curriculum to promote a learner-centered approach to teaching. Teachers, parents and students reflect on this change <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newtimes.co.rw\/section\/article\/2016-08-17\/202663\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">in this article<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>In the spring of 2016, members from the Khan Academy spent a day in Lindsay Unified School District capturing their performance-based system in action.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=cHG1gaJ_s14&amp;feature=youtu.be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">This video<\/a> features students and learning facilitators on the positive impacts of performance-based learning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Movement in Districts<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Colorado\u2019s District 51 hosted a two-day summit with 400 teachers and staff to learn more about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gjsentinel.com\/news\/articles\/palisade-crowd-gets-info-on-performancebased-learn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">performance-based learning<\/a>. Fifth grade teacher Aubrey Hoffman said, \u201cNow we\u2019re seeing a foundational shift and that\u2019s really exciting.
