With Lindsay High School being recognized for its accomplishments by the White House in Washington, D.C., ranking in the 99th percentile of schools in California that are drug-free, bully-free, alcohol-free, and learner-focused, one would have a hard time finding someone who didn\u2019t view Lindsay Unified School District as not only one of the top school districts in Tulare County, or in the state, but, arguably, in the nation.<\/p>\n<p>Lindsay Unified School District released a new book: <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marzanoresearch.com\/books-videos\/books\/beyond-reform-bkl036?utm_source=MR_2017&amp;utm_campaign=71MEA&amp;utm_medium=email\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Beyond Reform: Systemic Shifts Toward Personalized Learning<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>MCIEA Accountability Principles<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/mciea.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Massachusetts Consortium for Innovative Education Assessment (MCIEA)<\/a> is creating a new school accountability model in Massachusetts that champions students, teachers and families. They adopted the following seven <a href=\"http:\/\/mciea.org\/index.php\/about-mciea\/principles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">principles<\/a> for creating a fair and effective accountability system:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mciea.org\/index.php\/about-mciea\/principles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15206\" src=\"https:\/\/aurora-institute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Screen-Shot-2017-01-30-at-2.48.34-PM-218x300-218x300.png\" alt=\"MCIEA Accountability Principles\" width=\"503\" height=\"694\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Open Requests for Proposals <\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barrfoundation.org\/education\/rfp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Barr Foundation is accepting proposals<\/a> for their multi-year initiative to improve secondary outcomes for New England youth who are off track to graduate. Planning phase proposals are due February 15. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barrfoundation.org\/education\/rfp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Learn more here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>KnowledgeWorks and Teach the Future launched the <a href=\"https:\/\/imaginefutureed.knowledgeworks.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Imagine FutureEd Student Design Competition<\/a>, open to 13-18 year old students. The competition challenges students to think creatively and critically about the future of education.
