The Software Development Technical Certificate and the Business Operations, Applications, and Technology Technical Certificate will be offered starting in April.<\/li>\n<li>The Massachusetts Board of Higher Education <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insidehighered.com\/news\/2017\/11\/01\/competency-based-teacher-education-program-receives-state-approval\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">approved the Woodrow Wilson Academy of Teaching and Learning\u2019s application<\/a> to become a degree-granting graduate institution, which will enroll 25 aspiring teachers in fall 2018.<\/li>\n<li>North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill <a href=\"https:\/\/campustechnology.com\/articles\/2017\/10\/30\/cbe-program-to-train-more-teachers-in-north-carolina.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">launched a competency-based teacher education program<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>News<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The national magazine\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonmonthly.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Washington Monthly<\/a> named\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.slcc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Salt Lake Community College<\/a>\u00a0(SLCC) to its list of &#8220;Twelve Most Innovative Colleges for Adult Learners.\u201d\u00a0SLCC was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/pressreleases\/17\/08\/p9986393\/slcc-among-nations-top-innovative-colleges-for-adult-learners\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">singled out by the Washington, D.C.-based magazine<\/a> for taking a &#8220;risk&#8221; To sustain the momentum and to expand CBE across Texas \u2014 and beyond, there will be a second conference in\u00a0<strong>Austin, on April 5 and 6, 2018<\/strong>.
