We encourage practitioners to take the time to participate.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronicle.com\/article\/An-Update-of-the-Federal-Law\/243592\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">This article<\/a> looks at the dynamics around the Higher Education Act as United States senators cannot come to an agreement.<\/li>\n<li>California is planning to develop an online community college, but <a href=\"https:\/\/news.elearninginside.com\/californias-online-college-remains-controversial-as-governor-calls-for-chipotle-approach-to-education\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">some educators have reservations about the new development<\/a> and find the new governor\u2019s suggestion controversial.<\/li>\n<li>Policymakers, practitioners and other stakeholders gathered from 12 different countries for a conference on <a href=\"http:\/\/diverseeducation.com\/article\/117770\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social and emotional learning<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The Christensen Institute explores the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christenseninstitute.org\/blog\/making-sense-of-mergers\/?utm_source=Ed%20Digest&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=6%2F1%2F18\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">increase of mergers in higher education<\/a> and the possible effects in the field.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>New Resource<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The Center for Education and the Workforce at Georgetown recently released <em><a href=\"https:\/\/cew-7632.kxcdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/TCF_EducationalAdequacyReport.pdf?utm_source=New+FutureEd+Contacts&amp;utm_campaign=9a42af11c7-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_05_29_08_09_COPY_01&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_992c5c31cb-9a42af11c7-225063873\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Educational Adequacy in the Twenty-First Century<\/a><\/em> \u201cthat seeks to define a new outcomes-based earnings standard for all postsecondary education programs. After closely examining the value and cost of college programs, we determined a standard that would allow graduates to attain middle class earnings and recoup their education costs.
