Designing a Personalized, Competency-Based Learning System of Professional Learning: Placing Collaboration, Flexibility, and a Bias Towards Action at the Core

Breakout Session - October 25, 2021 | 2:30-3:30pm ET

Join this session to learn how The North Dakota Personalized, Competency-Based Learning (PCBL) Cohort is practicing a collaborative approach to professional learning, while actively considering impact and sustainability in your own learning community. We will apply the constructs of learning pathways and cycles to meet a variety of learning needs and consider how collaborative refection can bring both synchronous and asynchronous participants together in a powerful space.

Session Learning Outcomes:

  1. Envision a framework for collaborative professional learning that ensures all learners engage in a PCBL learning environment.
  2. Ideate a plan with the end in mind and a willingness to fail forward.
  3. Gain insights from lessons learned and next steps towards continuous improvement and sustainability.
