The shift from traditional, teacher-led instruction to student-centered, project-based learning is complex. We seek to support the adoption and scaling of rigorous project-based learning (PBL) across grades and subjects by describing some of the essential elements found in high-quality PBL learning environments.

Session Learning Outcomes:

  1. Define the key design principles of project-based learning that provide a framework for how to develop, execute, and scale project-based learning on a global scale.
  2. Describe curricular exemplars that demonstrate the key principles of rigorous high-quality project-based learning.
  3. Identify best practices for implementing project-based learning curricula.
