The ExcEL Leadership Academy and BloomBoard have partnered to identify the six professional competencies every K-12 teacher needs to work effectively with English Learners in their classrooms. We have also identified six additional competencies that characterize effective English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers. Hear how state, district, and school leaders are using educator micro-credentials to build the capacity of their teachers and ultimately improve student outcomes.

Session Learning Outcomes:

  1. Understand ways in which micro-credentials scaffold individualized professional learning for teachers.
  2. Understand ways school leaders can use micro-credentials to differentiate professional learning and build capacity for their schools.
  3. Understand ways districts and states can use micro-credentials to build an effective teaching force responsive to the needs of English Learners.
