The Homegrown Talent Initiative has worked with eight rural communities across Colorado over the past two years to develop and strengthen career-connected learning opportunities. Each community started by developing a graduate profile as the aspiration for students in their systems. In this session, you will hear directly from students from multiple communities about their experiences and how they are each making meaningful connections to the graduate profiles in their systems.

Session Learning Outcomes:

  1. Understand how students in rural Colorado are experiencing employment pathways through the Homegrown Talent Initiative.
  2. Understand how rural communities in Colorado have created competency-based graduate profiles that are relevant to their individual contexts.
  3. Explore how employment pathways connect to and reinforce competency-based graduate profiles.
