2014 iNACOL Innovator Awards Celebrate Blended and Online Learning Leaders

Nine innovative education leaders and their programs were honored Tuesday evening as recipients of iNACOL Innovator Awards to open the International Association for K-12 Online Learning’s annual iNACOL Blended and Online Learning Symposium in Palm Springs, CA. iNACOL’s annual awards recognize innovative learning practices, cutting-edge research, and outstanding individual achievements in the field of blended and online learning.

Susan Patrick, iNACOL’s President and CEO, said, “It is a great pleasure to honor the work of innovative practitioners and programs from the field of blended and online learning through iNACOL’s Innovator Awards each year. The awards are all the more meaningful as they come directly from nominations by colleagues and peers. Together, this year’s winners represent the powerful transformation to personalized learning happening in schools around the globe.”

Research Award:
Ohio University, Department of Instructional Technology & Laura Hibbard, Teresa Franklin, David Moore, Seann Dikkers, Tian Luo, John Henning

Innovative Blended and Online Learning Practice Award:
Navigate-NIDES ENTER Program, North Island Distance Education School, British Columbia, Canada

Outstanding Individual Contribution to K-12 Blended and Online Learning Award:
Robert Currie, Executive Director, Montana Digital Academy/The University of Montana

Blended and Online Learning Teacher of the Year Award:
Carrie Madden, Science Instructor, Georgia Virtual School
