iNACOL Leadership Webinar Highlights Research and Approaches to Expand Definition of Student Success

Washington D.C. (June 23, 2016) – On Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET, the International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) is hosting a Leadership webinar to examine research and approaches embracing an expanded definition of student success.

A wide array of high-quality research shows that intrapersonal and interpersonal non-cognitive skills, such as self-control and social competence are well-established predictors of success in academics, career and well-being. Given the importance of these outcomes and the strength of the existing research, it is time for these competencies to be incorporated effectively into educational policy and practice. These non-cognitive skills complement existing academic and cognitive goals in order to ensure schooling works to help all students flourish.

Join this webinar to explore the importance of equipping students with the mindsets, essential skills, and habits (MESH) necessary to succeed. Learn practical steps for moving your school towards an expanded definition of student success and gain insights on approaches school systems can use to assess and develop students’ mindsets and skills at scale, with examples from Summit Public Schools.
