iNACOL Webinar Presents Learning Outside the Classroom: Launching, Improving and Sustaining High School Internship Programs
Washington, D.C. (February 14, 2018) – On Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET, iNACOL will host a Leadership webinar to share ways to implement a successful internship program for schools and districts.
Educators across the country are seeking ways to ensure students are building the necessary skills to prepare them for successful futures. Internships are a powerful tool to provide students with authentic learning experiences, connected to their communities and the real world, and aligned to their interests and passions. By breaking down the classroom walls and extending learning out into the community, students develop agency, ownership and choice while accelerating and deepening learning.
Join this webinar for ways to develop, improve and sustain an internship program in your school or district. Hear from practitioners who launched internship programs in their schools who are sharing what they have learned and key takeaways. Understand why authentic, real-world learning is vital for success in college, career and life. Get tips on ways to get started and promising practices for leading a successful internship that helps prepare students for success. Education leaders will discuss top-level considerations when designing internship programs, such as compliance, quality, student interests, processes, and considerations for practice.
iNACOL CEO Susan Patrick said, “New school models are including internships to expand authentic learning opportunities for students to apply knowledge in real-world experiences to build on students’ talents and interests, while developing the skills and dispositions critical for future success.”
This webinar is free to attend — participants are invited to register here for final details and login information.
