K-12 education is at the beginning of what many hope will be a systemic transformation toward high-quality, personalized learning for every student. Across the United States, personalized learning environments are being created in partnership with teachers. Personalized learning provides teachers with the tools to better meet each student’s needs and provide instructional models geared toward building knowledge and skills necessary for future success.

To better understand how personalized learning is taking hold across the nation, iNACOL partnered with the Center on Reinventing Public Education (CRPE), NORC at the University of Chicago, and LEAP Innovations to conduct two national surveys to learn directly from teachers and students. A new report, A National Landscape Scan of Personalized Learning in K-12 Education in the U.S., summarizes teacher and student survey responses and provides insights on how personalized learning is developing nationwide as well as important trends, such as professional learning communities geared toward personalization.
