iNACOL Webinar Presents Strategies for Teachers to Develop Global Citizenship in Students

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Nov. 29, 2017) – On Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. ET, iNACOL is hosting a Teacher Talk webinar to share strategies teachers can use to develop important global citizenship skills and dispositions in students through personalized, competency-based learning models.

Lincoln-West School of Global Studies, a high school within the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, is implementing a personalized, competency-based system with the mission to prepare students to become knowledgeable, empathetic, and principled adults who think critically and act creatively on issues of local and global significance to build a just, sustainable and peaceful world. Through innovative instructional strategies, including community-based projects and strategic partnerships locally and globally, students develop the knowledge and skills necessary to grow and succeed in a diverse and evolving global society.

Join this webinar to learn ways to expose students to the international world through extensive expeditions, performance tasks, service learning projects, and classroom experiences. Teachers will share strategies, projects, and ideas to design personalized learning experiences for students to identify, examine and take action on issues of local and global significance — helping students become competent citizens and leaders in a global society and economy.

iNACOL CEO Susan Patrick said, “In personalized learning models across the country, teachers are providing students with real-world learning opportunities, embedded within the community and connected globally, to develop important skills and dispositions that help prepare them for a lifetime of success.”

This webinar is free to attend — participants are invited to register here for final details and login information.
