Using K-12 Performance Assessments and Competency-Based Transcripts in College Admissions

Simultaneous to K-12 schools expanding ways to assess and capture mastery of 21st Century competencies, a growing number of higher education institutions are exploring how to incorporate these or similar measures in the application process as part of a holistic admissions review process. Come prepared to learn about and discuss the challenges, opportunities, and promising solutions for students to be able to submit their portfolio and/or digital transcripts for admissions into higher education.

Session Learning Outcomes:

  1. Gain insight into the changing landscape of higher education admissions as part of the holistic and test-optional admissions trends. 
  2. Identify opportunities to help students use and submit their portfolio and/or mastery transcript in the higher education admissions process for expanding college access.
  3. Become part of a networked innovation space to reimagine college access and success.
