This panel session identifies the assessment tensions that may arise as learning systems transition from traditional teaching and learning to a more personalized, competency-based approach. Using data from a large-scale implementation of personalized, competency-based learning in South Carolina, we explore challenges and triumphs from partners in the work. Join us as we discuss the oftentimes messy roles of data, measurement, and systems change.
