You’ll want to listen in to hear about the new opportunities for creating systems of assessments that are designed around learning! Register here. Description of the Webinar

On Wednesday, December 9, 2015, Congress passed a bill that reauthorizes the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. The bill, called the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) would replace No Child Left Behind and holds significant implications for the field of K-12 education. The bill gives states flexibility to redesign assessments for student centered learning, to rethink accountability for new learning models, and to modernize educator and leadership development. It also provides funding to states and districts to implement personalized learning and invests in research on the digital equity gap.  Join experts who worked on the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act about important policy changes ahead at the federal level.  There will be a discussion of implications for states as well as what it means for competency-based, blended and online learning.

In this webinar, iNACOL’s Vice President for Federal and State Policy will provide an overview of the bill’s key provisions and answer your questions. We encourage you to tweet your questions to @nacol before the webinar and join the conversation during the webinar using #inacolESSA.
